kingwl ca39fd89b0 feat(example): sandbox-acp-agent — the live composition; RFCs to implemented
The three-entry cordis.yml (dsh-sandbox-local + dsh-bash-sandbox at a
read-only default + dsh-approval) served over ACP: the first live approval
composition. Recorded snapshot scenarios pin the wire end to end —
config-options advertisement, the mode-switching arc as the suite pinned
header (both switches, the prompt-section delta, one changed-by-the-user
notice per knob, a confined write landing under the switched mode), and
both escalation branches over scripted permissionAnswers (a grant runs
confined under workspace-write; a rejection executes nothing and pins the
fail-closed text). The with-key escalation e2e drives a real model +
real runner + the real bridge answerer, world-verified; ci.yml snapshot
lane and e2e.yml install bubblewrap so the confined replays actually
execute.

Both RFCs move to implemented/ (Decision/Consequences form, deferred
phases tracked in their own sections), with every cross-reference flipped.

kingwl 2eed448acf feat(bash): the sandboxed executor — per-call policy carrier, denial facts, runner-failure classification
dsh-bash grows the per-call policy carrier: BashExecRequest.sandboxMode
(request-optional, spec required-but-nullable — the owner pattern; resolve()
is the one explicit defaulting step) and the BashExecutor.sandboxMode
capability fact (undefined in the base class — composition truth the tool
layer can read). dsh-bash-local carries the field verbatim and confines
nothing.

dsh-bash-sandbox extends LocalBashExecutor and hands ctx.sandbox the exact
argv it is about to spawn. A denial is a RESULT FACT (the command RAN;
result.sandbox.denied is orthogonal to exitCode/signal), classified
conservatively against the wrap own dialect; a RUNNER failure outranks
denial — foreground re-throws the structured SANDBOX_UNAVAILABLE, a settled
background task stamps sandbox.runnerFailed — so a broken sandbox never
reads as a failing command and the command never runs unconfined.
dsh-tool-bash renders the markers and teaches the model not to retry around
a policy denial; escalation and per-session switching are staged follow-ups.

kingwl 80d8726601 feat(acp): the bridge approval answerer + scripted permission answers
The ACP bridge registers the first real approval answerer: an ask for an
agent it owns becomes session/request_permission attached to the already-
streamed tool call (one-shot allow_once/reject_once only), outcomes map
conservatively (unknown optionId never grants, client cancel → cancelled),
and foreign or call-less requests delegate down the waterfall. The snapshot
harness accepts scripted permissionAnswers (FIFO; an unscripted prompt
answers cancelled, fail closed) so recorded scenarios can drive the wire
keylessly.

kingwl 02e0756b78 feat(mode): ask_user_question joins the plan allowlist; the section steers to the exit tool
Live-session feedback (a real Zed elicitation round-trip): the model
presented its finished plan as a plain reply and asked the USER to
switch modes — the exact reversal the roadmap warns about — because the
shipped section's 'present it with the exit_plan_mode tool' read as a
suggestion. The section now says a finished plan is delivered by
calling exit_plan_mode, preferred over pasting it as a plain reply or
asking the user to switch modes — firmer, without imperatives.

ask_user_question enters the shipped plan allowlist (asking is
read-only-safe), and the section points a blocked decision at it. The
plan-acp-agent example composes the bash family (default mode only —
plan's allowlist keeps excluding it, so the two modes now demo a real
difference) plus tool-ask-user; both recorded scenarios re-recorded:
the pin now shows plan = [ask_user_question, exit_plan_mode, read,
todo_write] and post-exit default = the full eight-tool surface.

kingwl 14f7976e3d fix(mode): an approved exit leaves plan mode at the step boundary, not mid-batch
Review finding: the exit tool's direct mode/set append flipped the
folded mode while the loop could still execute further tool calls from
the SAME assistant response — a same-batch exit_plan_mode + write pair
would sail past tools/pre-execute under 'default' even though the
request was assembled under the plan-shaped header. That broke the
design's own invariant (a step's executions run under the mode its
assembly folded), which the pending-intent flush was built to hold for
user flips.

The tool now records the switch as a pending intent like every other
writer, flushed at this step's end (still in-turn); pending intents
carry a narrate flag so the exit's flush stays silent — the tool result
is its narration — while user flips keep the coalesced boundary notice.
The gate, folding the logged mode only, now provably covers the whole
batch: regression test pins approve-then-write-in-the-same-batch as
denied, and the widened toolset still arrives on the next step.

The recorded scenarios are re-recorded: the fixture now shows mode/set
landing after step/end, before the widened fallback header.

kingwl c5cb7da364 test(mode): record the plan-mode approve and keep-planning scenarios
The with-key recording session the RFC deferred. plan-mode is the 'plan'
header class's pinning scenario and necessarily carries BOTH header
shapes verbatim: the plan-shaped initial snapshot and the widened
fallback snapshot the approved exit produces mid-turn — so the suite
factory's pin guards relax from exactly-one to at-least-one header (the
classmates' uniformity anchor is the pin's FIRST header; transition
headers are legal only in the pin, matching the sandbox stack's
precedent). plan-mode-reject pins the keep-planning branch: the
corrective isError carries the reviewer's free-text feedback verbatim
and the session stays in plan mode, one header, uniform with the pin.

Recording notes, encoded in the prompts: the model is pinned to RELATIVE
paths (a recorded absolute temp path neither replays on another host nor
normalizes — the normalizers scrub the run's own cwd, not the
recording's), and the recorded model never calls a filtered tool, so the
gate's deny path stays pinned at the unit tier — that refusal is the
behavior the soft layer exists to produce. The gen-tool-catalog
meta-test pins exit_plan_mode in the harvested schema list.

kingwl 5a8e3a14ee docs(rfc): plan mode to implemented — amendments folded on the way
The proposal survives contact with the code with three amendments, per
the RFCs-are-proposals rule. (1) A mode transition logs a
request/header-delta only when expressible: adding exit_plan_mode
resorts the canonical tool list, and a pure reordering has no delta
form, so entering plan mode logs the full fallback snapshot — the
attributability claim holds either way. (2) The proposed/ skeleton
converts to the implemented grammar: Proposal → Decision, the roadmap's
staging (now history) drops to the standing Deferred list, and
Acceptance criteria + Risks fold into Consequences (what holds, then the
accepted costs, including the ACP v2 mode-removal migration). (3) The
two recorded scenarios stay pending a with-key session, recorded in
Deferred.

The docs tail completes: the cookbook's plan-mode row upgrades from
sketch to the shipped package, architecture.md gains the ctx.modes
capability row (ceiling 1640 → 1650: a new capability service's table
row does not fit the old budget), and every reference repoints to
implemented/.

kingwl edc065666f feat(mode): exit_plan_mode + the ACP session-mode picker + scriptable review answers
Plan mode's stage 2 (RFC 2026-07-07-plan-mode). The exit tool: one
required plan argument (the durable log artifact), execute re-checks the
folded mode, then conducts the review over the user-interaction seam —
one single-select question (Approve / Keep planning) with free text open
— so an approval appends mode/set back to default in-turn and every
other outcome (keep-planning feedback verbatim, aborted, no provider)
returns the corrective isError with the mode unchanged. presentCall is a
generic card titled by the plan's first heading carrying the plan
markdown; over ACP the review rides the ask_user elicitation flow, in
the terminal the stdio prompt queue — no approval-seam dependency.

The ACP bridge maps the picker 1:1 onto ctx.modes (opportunistic, a
type-only peer edge): session/new + session/load advertise
availableModes/currentModeId, session/set_mode validates through set()
and echoes an optimistic current_mode_update (the pending mode IS the
selection; the logged mode/set lands at the boundary and, matching, is
not re-sent), and a session/event listener re-notifies on each logged
flip that differs from the last sent — the tool-driven exit updates the
picker. The feature matrix rows move from 'not modeled' to the
picker-to-modes / knobs-to-config-options division, with the ACP v2
removal direction recorded as a mechanical-migration risk.

The snapshot harness gains the setMode/setModeExpectError ops and a
scripted elicitationAnswers FIFO (cancel on exhaustion; a stray choice
string reaches the agent verbatim as a non-consenting custom answer, so
a scenario bug fails safe). The suite factory's header-pin requirement
now applies only to model-turn scenarios — a protocol-only suite has no
header content to anchor. examples/plan-acp-agent is the live
composition; its keyless modes-advertise scenario pins the wire surface
(advertisement, both set_mode round-trips, unknown-id rejection). The
recorded plan-mode approve/reject arc awaits a with-key recording
session; its texts are pinned at the unit tier meanwhile.

examples/AGENTS.md ceiling 653 → 680: the new example's required smoke
row does not fit the old budget.

scenarios). Tool-catalog expectations take the union (run_code +
task_*); the two new pinsHeader fixtures (code-mode-turn,
both-mode-turn) were recorded on master without the task runtime, so
they are re-pinned KEYLESSLY by replaying their recorded chunks against
the merged tree (same procedure as text-turn) — the fixture diff is
exactly the header delta: task tool schemas, the tool:tasks prompt
section, and the bash background wording.

Tianyi Cui 30bc7f6a1d fix: the run_code program IS the execute-card title (root cause: Zed shows nothing else)
Systematic trace through Zed (crates/agent_ui thread_view.rs +
crates/acp_thread): kind:execute routes a tool call onto the
terminal-card layout, whose header (render_collapsible_command) has NO
disclosure toggle, whose body content renders only when is_open — a
flag only a real terminal entity can ever set — and which suppresses
the Raw Input view outright. Every prior attempt (rawInput, pending
content, completed content) targeted slots that layout structurally
never renders; the one slot it always shows is the TITLE, which said
"Run code". codex-acp confirms the idiom: execute cards are titled
with the command itself.

presentCall now titles the card with the program (rawInput kept as the
canonical input slot); presentResult omits the title — an update
replaces only provided fields, so the program header persists — and
carries the captured output as content. Goldens re-recorded; the unit
test pins title-carries-program on both frames.

Tianyi Cui f505776eee fix: keep the program on the COMPLETED run_code card (agent review follow-up)
The previous commit put the fenced program only on the pending card —
but an ACP tool_call_update's content REPLACES the card content (Zed
truncates to the new list, crates/acp_thread update_fields), so the
code vanished the moment the run completed and was effectively never
visible. presentResult now re-carries the fenced program before the
captured output via a shared fencedProgram helper; the completed card
body is program + output, rendered by Zed as syntax-highlighted
markdown behind the card disclosure. Goldens re-recorded (filtered
this time: DSH_SNAPSHOT=record vitest -u -t mode-turn); unit test pins
the two-block result content.

Yichen Jiang 184e164091 feat(tasks): background task runtime, generic task_* control tools, bash/subagent producers
One shared ctx.tasks registry (branded <kind>-N ids, owner-fenced
read/kill/wait/list, attachSurface misconfiguration fence, reported-flag
notice dedup, atomic register) + dsh-tool-tasks (task_output/task_list/
task_kill, completion-notice injection, background prompt habit).
Producers opt in via their own enableRunInBackground config: bash
(stream kind; seam slimmed to resolve/run/start returning a BashProcess
handle, bash_output/bash_kill deleted) and subagent (final-output kind;
done settles after run.dispose()). Owner disposal drains tasks through
the new awaited ctx.agents.onCleanup seam in the loop's disposal chain.
Both RFCs moved to implemented/; docs, catalogs, snapshots re-pinned.

Dudu-0223 e94305d99e fix: address codex review round 1
Two functional gaps in the search tools change:

- Enforce rawOutputMaxBytes on UNTRUNCATED inline stdout too. The cap was
  only checked on the truncated->raw-spill path, so an executor retaining
  more inline than the search cap (or a deployment lowering the cap below
  the bash retention) could smuggle an over-cap parse through, contradicting
  the documented SEARCH_RAW_OUTPUT_OVERFLOW contract. Covered by a new
  over-cap-inline test.

- Load @deepseek-ai/dsh-timeout-policy in the coding-agent tree. The search
  tools declare timeoutMs but nothing in the demo enforced it, so the
  advertised 30s budget silently degraded to the bash executor's 60s
  backstop. The keyless smoke boots the amended tree.

Dudu-0223 e0f20088d8 feat: bash-backed glob/grep discovery tools (dsh-tool-fs-search)
Implements docs/rfc/implemented/feature/2026-07-09-bash-backed-grep-glob-
discovery.md: model-facing glob/grep in a new @deepseek-ai/dsh-tool-fs-search
package, executing fixed ripgrep templates through ctx.bash.resolve/run —
not ctx.fs provider methods — so filesystem backends stay free of a search
contract and sandboxed/remote executors substitute cleanly. The tools never
call ctx.bash.start(); the tool layer owns quoting (one singleQuote safety
boundary), rg --json parsing, ItemRetainer/TextRetainer retention, and the
first tool-owned ctx.spillFiles.saveText() handoff (item-level retention the
generic post-execute spill policy cannot recover).

RFC amendments on the way to implemented/: a shared src/search-core.ts (the
SEARCH_* vocabulary + bash-run/raw-spill/spill plumbing was byte-identical
across both tools — the missed-extraction smell), and a snapshot-gap note:
wiring the acp-agent tree changes the assembled prompt, so goldens need a
keyed re-record; the spill notice text is pinned by unit tests instead and
only the coding-agent example ships the tools for now.

Tianyi Cui 2c03b2bc29 feat: surface the run_code program in the ACP tool-call card
The generated program rode only rawInput — the detail/expanded slot
many ACP clients never open — so the code a run executed was invisible
in the UI stream. presentCall now also carries it as a fenced ts block
in the card's content, which the bridge already forwards as tool_call
content. The two code-mode snapshot goldens are re-recorded live and
replay green; the presentation unit test pins the fenced block.

imccyu f91bfc1fcf test: re-record the header pin and workflow-run for the meta-parameter schema
The workflow tool's wire schema changed (required meta object
parameter; body-only script). Request-header content is pinned by
exactly ONE scenario (text-turn) and scrubbed to {{system}}/{{tools}}
tokens everywhere else, so the schema change re-records exactly two
fixtures:

- text-turn — the pinned header itself (the one committed copy of the
  tool schemas; every other scenario's live header is asserted equal to
  this pin by the uniformity guard).
- workflow-run — its recorded interaction used the removed call shape
  (meta embedded in the script), which the engine now rejects; the
  authored prompt is updated to dictate the new shape (meta as a
  parameter, body-only script) and the scenario re-recorded to a clean
  single call.

Every other fixture stays byte-identical and replays green against the
new pin. Known pre-existing exception: fs-policy-reject's recording
carries a GNU-only sed -i fallback that fails BSD/macOS replay — kept
out of this change deliberately (the snapshot CI lane is ubuntu).

imccyu 0d11a3afc7 workflow: rename dsh-workflow-vm to dsh-workflow-workerthread
Pure mechanical rename now that the package's internals are the
worker-thread engine: directory, package name, spec/e2e filenames,
module tags and logger prefixes, tsconfig/knip/run-gates/AGENTS.md
references, example cordis.yml plugin ids, doc links; catalogs
regenerated and the lockfile refreshed.

imccyu d5c65e2b4c docs: describe the workflow engine as worker-thread first
The outer ring catches up with the engine swap (the package's own
README/JSDoc rode the port commit):

- Seam module doc and README name the worker-thread engine as THE
  implementation, with isolated-vm/separate-process sandboxing as the
  deferred hardening; the seam service doc states the holder-owned-runs
  contract (engine-fiber disposal deliberately leaves live runs to
  their holders).
- Seam contract precision: agentsStarted documents the termination-path
  degradation to the host-observed count; the events section scopes the
  agent-start/agent-end pair to calls that STARTED a child run;
  WorkflowRun wording drops the vm-era abandonment language.
- The dynamic-workflows RFC is rewritten in place to the shipped
  mechanism (implemented-RFC rule): why worker threads, the thread's
  concrete buys, the in-process node:vm first cut recorded under
  alternatives considered; the tool section describes the usage policy
  as the tool's own prompt section.
- gen-doc-graphs: six workflow/* DYNAMIC_EVENT_DISPATCHERS entries (the
  catalog no longer claims nothing dispatches them) and the seam-note
  wording; core-data-structures gains its workflow.md index row;
  packages/README + AGENTS.md layout line + example cordis.yml comments
  say worker-thread; catalogs regenerated.

imccyu db45769513 feat(tool-cordis): Node-API traps + fs/web capability routing
The sandbox deliberately provides no Node API, and now says so instead of
letting a bare ReferenceError teach nothing: require, the timers, and fetch
are callable traps whose error redirects to the cordis alternative (inject:
['fs'] + ctx.fs, ['web'] + ctx.web, ['bash'] + ctx.bash, ['timer'] +
ctx.setTimeout — a fiber effect, unwound on unmount). Only function-shaped
globals are trapped; process/Buffer stay undefined so typeof feature probes
stay inert. The mount description and the demo persona state the routing rule,
and the demo mounts ctx.fs (local provider) and ctx.web (seam + keyless local
fetch provider) so agent-built plugins have real capabilities to build on.
Live-validated: a model that reached for Node setTimeout self-corrected to
inject: ['timer'] in one step and built a working ctx.web fetch tool.

imccyu e51e58e993 chore: register the cordis group across repo gates and docs
Everything outside the package and example that a new top-level group and a
new demo touch: GROUP_ORDER in gen-module-graph and gen-doc-graphs (plus the
tools-service consumers list, the APP_EXAMPLES entry, and the graph-atlas
label/mode rows), the knip e2e entries, the packages/README group row, the
AGENTS.md layout and demo lines, and the regenerated module-graph /
config-catalog / graph-atlas / capability-seams / composition artifacts.
AGENTS.md and examples/AGENTS.md word-budget ceilings rise to current+5%

imccyu 5edc9c573a examples: cordis-agent — the self-referential demo
The coding spine (DeepSeek V4 + local bash on dsh-stdio-agent) plus
@deepseek-ai/dsh-tool-cordis loaded by package name, run via demo:cordis.
Ships the keyless Loader smoke (the export-shape / package-name-resolution
guard) and the with-key smoke: a real model mounts a listener whose tagged
console line actually fires, builds and calls its own reverse_text tool, and
composes two mounts via provide/inject — all world-verified against the
registry and session events.

Tianyi Cui 9fddbac095 refactor: unify the Code Mode demos on base-plus-overlay
Both demo:code-mode UIs now share one mechanism: the base example plus a
same-shaped code-mode.cordis.yml include overlay (insert the worker
runtime, flip tools.mode). Previously the REPL side was a hand-forked
example (examples/code-agent) that had also silently diverged — it
dropped compaction and the subagent stack — so the demo's UI argument
switched agents, not just surfaces. The fork is retired: coding-agent
gains the overlay, a Code Mode README section absorbing code-agent's,
and both of its tests (the keyless boot guard, retargeted at the
overlay; the with-key RFC proof, which hand-mounts its own harness and
moves untouched). The RFC's composed-surface and e2e-tier lines, the
examples index, the AGENTS.md smoke table, and the dsh-tools README
link now describe the overlay shape.

Verified live: overlay keyless smoke, with-key code-mode e2e from its
new home, demo:code-mode banner + EOF exit, and the acp handshake.

Tianyi Cui bc7da642d4 feat: fold the Code Mode demos into demo:code-mode with a UI argument
Code Mode is the point; the UI is just the surface it happens to wear.
demo:code and demo:acp-code collapse into one dispatcher
(scripts/demo-code-mode.mjs): `pnpm run demo:code-mode [repl|acp]` —
repl (default) boots the stdio REPL over examples/code-agent, acp
serves examples/acp-agent's code-mode overlay; each UI runs the exact
node invocation its standalone script ran, and an unknown argument
fails loud with usage. All nine references across READMEs, the RFC,
the overlay header, and the keyless-smoke comment renamed. Smoked all
three paths: usage exit 2, ACP initialize handshake, REPL boot + EOF.

Tianyi Cui 1be9baeb7b feat: add demo:acp-code — the ACP demo in Code Mode
Boots the acp-agent example through the existing code-mode.cordis.yml
overlay (tool surface collapses to run_code + the generated TypeScript
SDK, dispatching through the worker-thread runtime), mirroring how
demo:code relates to demo:repl on the stdio side. The overlay header
and both READMEs now name the demo as a consumer. Smoke: the server
answers an ACP initialize handshake with a clean frame on stdout.

Dudu-0223 463b72ce96 feat(spill): add tool-output spill seam, local backend, and policy
Oversized plain-text tool results now spill to a session-scoped file and
return a bounded preview plus the spill path, so a verbose result stays
readable via `read` without consuming the next model request in full.

- dsh-spill: minimal SpillFiles seam (saveText → session-scoped SpillPath)
- dsh-spill-local: private 0700 session dirs, traversal-safe names, exclusive
  owner-only writes
- dsh-spill-policy: tools/post-execute transformer; no-op unless maxInlineBytes
  is set; skips read; best-effort on save failure (never turns a success into
  an isError)

web_fetch is the showcase — no tool-specific spill code. The coding-agent
example loads the stack so its keyless Loader smoke guards the namespace-plugin
export shape. Snapshot gap for a transcript-visible web_fetch spill is recorded
in the RFC's Consequences (ACP replay is keyless and cannot hit the web).

Tianyi Cui 35ef649716 Merge branch 'code-runtime-worker' into code-mode-tools
Brings in the refreshed base (master merged through the stack after #203
and #205 landed), including the acp-snapshot extraction (#204), and
re-ports this PR's snapshot-suite extensions onto the extracted package:

- dsh-acp-snapshot's Scenario gains headerClass and configPath; the suite
  factory pins the request header PER CLASS (construction rejects a
  missing or duplicated class pin), forwards a scenario's configPath to
  the harness (RunOptions.configPath overrides AgentUnderTest.configPath),
  and a new fixtures meta-test asserts every pinning fixture carries
  exactly one request/header and no deltas.
- The acp-agent example's thin scenario table re-registers code-mode-turn
  and both-mode-turn with their overlay configs and per-class pins; the
  committed fixtures replay unchanged.
- The package's synthetic suites cover the new surface (explicit
  headerClass on one suite, the default on the other, a configPath
  override through the fake bin, and the two construction throws).
