The Loader resolves each config row against the composing app, so moving the
TUI composition from examples/ into apps/cli left eleven rows unresolvable from
the built bin: `node apps/cli/lib/bin.js` died at boot with "plugin(s) failed to
load". Source-mode runs hid it, because tsconfig paths resolve the whole
workspace regardless of who declares what.
Also declares `dsh-llm-pi-ai` and `dsh-tmux-context`, which a personal
`~/.dsh/config.yaml` inserts to swap the model adapter. Those previously
resolved only because the config lived under examples/, whose package.json
declares the union of every leaf's plugins.
Caught by running the built bin from a scratch directory, which is how a user
actually starts it.
`dsh` shipped two config trees that were 43 rows the same: apps/cli/cordis.yml
composed web as 74 flat rows, while the TUI booted examples/tui-agent/cordis.yml
whose single `@deepseek-ai/dsh-tui-demo` row mounted twelve plugins behind a
twenty-key pass-through Config. Neither file was what its location claimed —
apps/cli hardcoded the "example" as the product default and the "demo" bundle
was the application — and every capability change had to be made twice.
- apps/cli/base.cordis.yml holds the 43 shared rows; tui.cordis.yml and
web.cordis.yml are patch lists stating only what differs per surface
- overlays apply as SIBLING patch lists at one include level, because include
patches never cross an include boundary. Precedence: base < surface <
(--config | personal ~/.dsh/config.yaml) < launcher flag/profile patches
- `--config` now applies an overlay INSTEAD OF the personal one, so a demo or
test tree never inherits the user's route; new `--config-replace` boots a file
as the entire tree (the old `--config` behaviour). Both survive /resume
- vendor/include: index each `insert`ed row as it is added so a later patch can
configure or disable it. Upstream built the id index once before the patch
loop, leaving every surface-only row — the whole TUI front door — silently
unpatchable from user config. Logged as local modification 8
- session identity moves to dsh-agent-loop's CONFIGURED_AGENT_IDENTITIES_KEY;
dsh-tui's MAIN_SESSION_ID_KEY is deleted (only the bundle read it)
- delete examples/tui-agent, examples/cordis-agent, packages/examples/tui-demo;
TUI tests → apps/cli/tests, cordis e2e → packages/cordis/tool-cordis/tests,
examples/code-mode survives as an overlay leaf
- `dsh web` gains --config, threaded into AppCLIEntry as an extra overlay
Three latent defects surfaced and are fixed here: the TUI captured the optional
sessionQuery service once at construction and could permanently disable /resume
when it won the mount race; the session-store root silently reverted to a
project-local ./.sessions; --config-replace was dropped by the resume handoff.
Verified by booting each tree through the real Loader (TUI 55 entries, web 75,
zero unsettled) rather than reading YAML. All eight terminal snapshots replay
byte-identically; 14/14 PTY smoke, 112/112 snapshots, 25/25 doc-sync, hygiene
and lint clean.
Supersession (newer navigation, path editing, closing, unmount) now
aborts the in-flight listing's request instead of only discarding its
result: the browser mints an AbortController per listing, the signal
rides the workspace face (IWorkspaces.listDirectory gains an optional
signal) onto the fetch carrier, and the Host scan stops with it (817's
cancellation chain). apps/cli keeps both picker packages as dependencies
so the documented one-row cordis.yml swap to the native backend resolves
at boot.
The browse level now streams through opendir into a name-sorted window of
maxEntries + 1 candidates (boundedInsert), so memory stays O(maxEntries)
no matter how many children a directory holds and enterability probing
touches only windowed candidates; a windowed broken symlink is not
backfilled since the eviction already marks the level truncated.
schemastery joins the package's runtime dependencies (the source launcher
and isolated installs failed to resolve the value import). The
folder-error dialog's Choose again goes inert while the flow hole is
empty, and the withdrawal effect also keys on the open transition, so a
flow can never open over a hole nobody serves.
Shared-surface conflicts resolve as unions: the fixture serves all five
projection keys (title/todos/permissions/plan/goal) with the /permission
and /plan command mirrors side by side, the connection specs assert the
five-key baseline and the shifted approval/question replay indices, and
the cli roster/deps, tsconfig aggregate, and README allowlist carry both
lines' rows. Plan-side content lands verbatim from master.
One end-state consolidation both branches half-did: with questions
(ui-question) and approvals (ApprovalPanel) each owning a composer
takeover, PendingCard retires outright — ChatView renders no pending
placeholder, the card component and its specs go, and both README halves
state the takeover-only contract.
Union resolutions throughout — the fixture serves both the goal and plan
projection units (catalog gains /goal beside /plan; the retired
goal-fixture sample command yields to the real goal mirror), the mux
baseline spec expects all four unit frames, and the tsconfig paths /
Model Experience allowlist carry both domains' outlets.
Shared-surface conflicts resolve as unions: the fixture serves all four
projection keys (title/todos/permissions/goal) with both the /permission
and /goal command mirrors (the goal-fixture placeholder retires with
master), apps/cli carries both lines' dependency additions, and the README
Model Experience allowlist keeps both entries. The connection specs assert
the four-key baseline and the shifted approval/question replay indices;
the module graph regenerates over the merged dependency set.
Three ui-conversation spec conflicts resolve to master's SlotTestRuntime
rewrites. Adaptation to the new outward session face: ISession gains the
command verb (the composer chip and the /permission picker submit through
it), FixtureSession grows the matching fail-loud stub plus the
waitingApproval summary default, and the picker reads the projection
through projections.faceOf (the ProjectionsFace shape) instead of the
retired store getter.
A jsdom slot test runtime for feature specs: a real Cordis Context, the
production SlotsService and web-react renderer, and typed session/workspace
doubles (TestSessions implements ISessions with FixtureSession sessions;
TestWorkspaces implements IWorkspaces), so the compiler flags fixture drift
when a production face changes. Fixtures feed plain data: list rows,
conversation snapshots, and ISession-typed behavior stubs; provide-bundle
materialization runs the shared SessionProvideChannel.
DOM snapshot support: declare()/renderSlot() mount a single slot inside a
data-slot wrapper for local .snap capture, and a snapshot serializer folds
CSS-module class hashes to their semantic locals and collapses svg internals
to a content fingerprint. The typed provide() constrains declared-service
fakes to Partial of the service's outward face.
Plan mode is entered through /plan only — the select control is retired.
The conversation.input.plan seat (now right of the access-mode control)
renders a read-only Plan chip while the projection's effective target is
plan mode; its hover x executes /plan off, and the chip follows the folded
target (appears on /plan immediately, disappears on /plan off) with frames
correcting either way. While plan mode is targeted the composer textarea's
placeholder switches to the plan-task wording — InputBar reads the same
projection through the standard-kit useProjection (the TodoDock posture:
a type-only key merge, no domain service edge), and owner placeholders
still win.
Bare /permission now opens a flat popupSelect of presets (current value
active, custom excluded) instead of returning a text report — the /model
pattern on a single-level list. The new dsh-client-ui-permission package
registers the contribution; a pick submits '/permission <preset>' through
Session.command, so the picker, the composer chip, and the argued line all
write through the one host command and follow the one pushed projection
frame. Options and availability read the 'permissions' projection.
ui-command gains the hostBacked contribution mode: a same-named host
command is cooperation, not a collision — the host keeps the catalog row,
the argument claim (space and argued-enter fall through to the host path),
and the lifecycle logging, while the contribution supplies only the
bare-invocation popup. The /permission command handler keeps its bare-line
text report for host surfaces without a popup layer (TUI, raw execute).
apps/cli/cordis.yml swaps bash-local/fs-local for the acp-agent composition
(sandbox-local + sandbox-policy + bash-sandbox + user-approval + permission
+ fs-sandbox; fs-policy composes on top unchanged). The deployment default
stays danger-full-access + never — byte-for-byte the old unconfined
behavior, so the replay e2e lane and demos are unaffected — while
DSH_PERMISSION_MODE opts a process into a confined default and the
/permission command switches per session. The permission preset table ships
the three product presets (read-only/ask, workspace-write/ask,
danger-full-access/never) explicitly in the deployment config.
PermissionSelect returns as the Access seat's wired occupant: options and
the current value read from the 'permissions' projection through the
standard-kit useProjection (no fetch, no mount timing — the resident
composer's mount-once fetch bug dies with the fetch), key absence renders
nothing (permission-less host, or a Draft with no session), and a pick
submits the '/permission <preset>' command line through the new
ComposerBarInjected.command callback (Session.command = command.execute
admission; the pushed projection frame lands the confirmed value). The
READONLY_OPTIONS placeholder and its local state leave InputBar.
The connection fixture mirrors the host: a permissions unit fold (three
knob events over the fixture preset table), the projections block +
baseline/push frames carry the key, and /permission joins the command
catalog with the same switch-through-knob-events handler shape.
Static: the cache package.json files array matches the workspace
constraint shape, the unused dsh-storage-json devDependency is dropped
(tests run on the memory backend), and docs/module-graph.md is
regenerated for the new package edge.
Coverage: two unreachable branches deleted rather than tested —
coldSnapshot's floor-0 tail reuse (a baseSeq-0 restore never throws and
an unrelated record still carries a usable watermark) and flushSoft's
non-mandatory clean-skip (throttle triggers only fire dirty). New tests
close the real gaps: write() on a never-dirty session and the non-JSON
unit-state rejection, plugin disposal clearing armed interval timers,
cachedSnapshot's all-version-mismatched and cwd-identity arms, the
zero-units empty-log cut, the coordinator seek-hook ladder (suffix /
not-found / plain failure / abort-reason relay), and the superseded-
retirement race proving forget()'s exact-entry guard.
SessionSummary grows an optional projections column (whole value per key,
same passthrough posture as the history-tail block): attached rows cut the
live registry watermark cache; cold rows view the persisted projection
cache's stored rows via the new registry viewCheckpoint face (version-
matching keys only, zero I/O) — the RFC's motivating scenario, every
session's title across a listing without loading one event log. The column
is fail-soft and absence-coded: no registry, no cache row, or a throwing
read serve the row without the column, never breaking the listing.
New package on the domain data form: one session_projcache record per
session (key → {stateVersion, observedSeq, state}), landing beside
workspace.json under the shipped json backend. Write policy: two mandatory
points (turn/end + session disposal) with count/interval throttling between
them (both Config fields required — flush cadence is a deployment choice);
every background write is fail-soft (log + stay stale, self-heal on the
next write or cold read). coldSnapshot(id) runs the read ladder — cached
rows + persistence readFrom from the registry's anchored restore floor +
registry restore + fail-soft write-back — detecting crash-repair-shrunk
logs via the one-below anchor and degrading to a single full re-read.
Mounted in apps/cli/cordis.yml (writeEveryEvents 200 / writeIntervalMs
5000).
The read side becomes the 'permissions' session projection: src/types.ts is
the key declaration's one home (PermissionSelect = whole select: table
options in declaration order plus a current-only 'custom'), served through
./types and the ./client re-export. The unit folds the three whole-value
knob events (permission/preset, sandbox/mode, approval/policy) into a plain
KnobState and views the select over the composition defaults the service
already owns; current() shares the same derive step, so the fold exists
once. The write side becomes the /permission command (the /plan
registration shape): bare invocation reports the current preset and the
table, a preset argument switches through set() immediately — no turn
anchoring (knob events need no enclosure), no dedicated RPC. Both children
activate only when their registry is composed.
directory-picker-browse becomes dual-face: its browser half fills
ui-workspace's two directory-flow holes with the Select Workspace Directory
dialog (figma Harness 813-23126 family — Miller two-column view, breadcrumb
with click-to-edit path zone, nested New-folder dialog), driving the node
half's host.listDirectory/host.createDirectory and owning its locale
namespace (directory-browser, zh default / en). The dialog moves here from
ui-workspace wholesale — the trigger surfaces keep only the flow-hole owner
conversation.
apps/cli flips its one directory-picker row -native -> -browse, swapping the
host backend and the client interaction together; picking now works for
remote deployments out of the box. The keyless workspace-flow snapshot boots
the browse bundle and drives menu -> dialog -> Documents -> project -> Open
against the fixture tree.
ui-workspace's two trigger surfaces each declare a single-kind directory-flow
hole (conversation.hero.workspace.directoryFlow / sidebar.workspaces.directoryFlow,
same owner contract) and keep only the trigger and the adoption: the Open-local-
folder entry renders while the surface's hole is occupied, and the occupant
reports one picked path per open through the hole's owner conversation
(open/busy/onPicked/onCancel/onError).
directory-picker-native becomes dual-face: its browser half fills both holes
with a renderless occupant driving host.pickDirectory, so the cordis.yml row
that mounts the backend also composes the client interaction — a mismatch is
impossible and a second flow package fails at client load.
With composition wiring both sides, the host.describe.directoryPicker
advertisement and the client's kind branching lose their last consumer:
the field, WorkspacesService.directoryPickerKind(), the DirectoryPickerKind
wire type, and the picker's per-open describe read are deleted. The connection
fixture now serves a deterministic pickDirectory path so the keyless snapshot
drives the full pick-then-adopt flow. ui-workspace's hand-rolled declaration
deferral is replaced by the deferRegistration helper it duplicated.
goal (GoalService + the 'goal' projection unit), goal-session (automatic
continuation), command-goal (/goal — lands in the materialized effective
catalog and the slash menu with zero client changes), and ui-goal (the
GoalBar dock surface). apps/cli deps updated accordingly.
New client plugin package. The GoalBar component migrates verbatim from the
original PR (phase labels, inline edit form, resume-when-paused, pending
lockout, inline errors); its data path is rebuilt for the projection model:
- GoalDock adapter reads useProjection('goal') from the standard kit — no
controller, no store, no refresh chain, no event listener (the original
PR's Session goal fields, write-revision fence, and coalesced refetch all
dissolve into the value store's seq rule).
- The inject face carries only the three mutation verbs; each reads the CAS
ref from the session's current projected value at call time and maps the
settled RPC result inline (callbacks from inject, live state from
useProjection).
- Seats at conversation.input.dock order 1 (the slot contract names GoalBar
as a resident of this strip), below TodoPanel/QueueDock, tucked against
the composer; hero phase renders nothing for free.
- IconSparkle16 is package-local (sole consumer) — ui-primitives keeps only
the shared action icons.
- goalbar.spec migrates with GoalSnapshot props (activation is process-local
and absent from the projection; the strip renders durable phase only).
dsh-goal/types becomes the client-safe pure outlet (tool-todo dual-outlet
shape): GoalId/GoalRef/GoalPhase/GoalBlockReason/GoalSnapshot, the new
GoalProjection payload, and the SessionProjectionMap 'goal' key merge — zero
host imports. Host-coupled vocabulary (GoalView/activation, change metas,
message source, folds, GoalError codes, the scoped goal/changed event) moves
to src/domain.ts, re-exported from the package root. ./client re-exports the
outlet for client aggregates.
GoalService registers the projection unit under ctx.inject(['sessionProjections']):
applyGoalProjection is a projection-grade last-wins fold — plain-JSON state,
same-reference return on non-goal or malformed events (a throwing apply
would tear down the registry drive; strict validation stays with the write
side and foldGoal). Activation is process-local and deliberately absent from
the projection value.
master's toolcall-open extracted runNativeCommand inside apiproxy for the
openPath opener while the picker seam had moved the native chooser (its other
consumer) into directory-picker-native; after the merge the two packages each
carried a verbatim copy. The runner now lives in packages/util/native-command
(zero-dependency library, per the util-group contract) and both native
integrations depend on it.
The browse interaction also presents a dialog (the in-app modal), so 'dialog'
failed to discriminate the two capability kinds; 'native' names where the
chooser runs. Package directory-picker-dialog -> directory-picker-native, kind
'dialog' -> 'native', with every seam/gateway/client/doc reference updated and
the seam Agent Note's naming rationale rewritten to match.
Rewrite ui-plan as a pure browser surface plugin. The control occupies the
composer's named plan seat (declared empty by ui-conversation); reads render
the host-computed plan projection through the standard-kit useProjection
(absent key = capability absence, hides the control), writes execute /plan
or /plan off through command.execute. The node half becomes the empty
roster apply: plan behavior (command, policy, projection unit) is owned by
dsh-plan-mode, already composed on the web roster with its policy in
cordis.yml. The superseded RPC-backed setPlanMode face, the WEB_PLAN_SECTION
duplicate, and the node-plugin spec are removed; the roster row moves from
the retired CLIENT_PACKAGES table to the cordis.yml dshClient roster.
