Per a design revision, the per-scenario snapshot fixture becomes EXACTLY the
persisted session JSONL (<scenario>/session.jsonl) rather than a hand-authored
llm.json. The log already holds all LLM behavior (assistant/chunk carries every
StreamChunk) AND all harness behavior (tool/call, tool/result, turn/*, usage),
so one artifact drives replay and doubles as a behavioral golden.
llm-replay becomes replay-only (the record-tee is removed; recording is now
"run the real agent once and harvest the .jsonl", done by the harness in a
later commit). deriveReplayScript(events) groups assistant/chunk by (turn,step)
in log order — exact because the loop makes one ctx.llm.stream() call per step
and tags each chunk with the current (turn, step). The two failure modes the log
can't express (a thrown stream — no terminal finish; cancel/hang — timing) use
an optional replay.override.json sidecar.
Hardens against a Codex review finding: a derived group is only valid if it
ends in a `finish` chunk. A group without one is the fingerprint of a thrown
stream() and is NOT silently replayed as a clean stop — deriveReplayScript
throws, naming the (turn, step), so a missing sidecar override fails loud.
Updates the unit tests (parse/derive/load helpers, sidecar override, finish-
terminated grouping, HMR), the example README, and the RFC prose to the JSONL
format. Two goldens (stdout transcript + re-persisted JSONL) and the harness
wiring land in the next commit.
Records the decision to add a third test tier: snapshot tests that boot the
real acp-agent subprocess over ACP stdio, record the LLM's streamed responses
once against the real API, then replay them deterministically so the full
stdout transcript can be diffed against a committed golden — keyless in CI.
Captures the design choices hardened in a Codex (xhigh) review: record at the
provider-neutral llm/stream waterfall; a discriminated fixture entry schema
(chunks/throw/hang) that honors both LLM failure branches; positional replay
with a one-in-flight-stream constraint; per-stream atomic fixture flush (the
subprocess is SIGKILLed, so dispose-time flush would never run); a providerless
replay config; normalize-then-snapshot parsed frames; normalization over an OS
sandbox now with the rootless bwrap/sandbox-exec tier reserved via the
BashExecutor capability seam. Cross-links the proposed determinism RFC
(complementary: internal history invariant vs external protocol contract).
Codex + an independent review pass found three real defects in the prior commit:
1. parseExitStatus could misreport a SUCCESSFUL command as a failure: a clean
exit 0 appends no marker, so output ending in "[exit code: 5]" (no trailing
newline) was read as the marker. Anchor the parse to a LEADING newline —
renderResult always inserts one before a real marker, so a body that merely
ends in marker-like text no longer matches. A narrow residual (a clean exit 0
whose final line is exactly the marker) is inherent to the replay-only-sees-
text design and documented; the complete fix (a structured exit on the event)
is the RFC's named escape hatch.
2. A run_in_background start and an isError result were rendered as exited
terminal cards with a false exit-0 pill. A background start returns a task-id
ack (not a streamed terminal) and is no longer marked terminal; an isError
result (spawn failure / abort) carries no exit pill.
3. The terminal capability was re-read live on the result path, so a second
initialize between a call and its result could desync them (orphan
terminal_output or clobbered card). Snapshot the capability per session at
creation (SessionRecord.terminalEnabled) so call and result always agree.
Also reword the reference-parity claim: keeping the description as a content
block in terminal mode is a DELIBERATE divergence (claude-agent-acp drops it).
Tests added for each; with-key e2e still green.
Match claude-agent-acp / codex-acp: the bash tool_call title IS the command
(an execute card hides rawInput), the model description rides as a content
text block above the card, and the completed card carries an exit-status pill
via _meta.terminal_exit.
Bridge fixes found in review of the prior terminal-card commit:
- tool_call_update.content is OMITTED in terminal mode (an ACP update.content
REPLACES the call's content collection in Zed, so the fenced ```console block
would clobber the terminal content block).
- terminal.output preserves RAW newlines (terminal renderers rely on exact
bytes); only the fenced fallback trims trailing blank lines.
- a relative workdir is resolved against the session cwd for the card header,
matching where the command actually ran.
- result-side terminal output is gated on the pending call having registered a
terminal (no orphan _meta.terminal_output for a terminal Zed never made).
The exit pill is recovered by parsing renderResult's status markers (the pure
presentResult seam sees only content blocks); a round-trip test pins the parse
to the marker emission. Neutral ToolTerminal gains exitCode/signal; widened
ToolCallPresentation with a content block. Docs (RFC + 3 READMEs) updated;
with-key e2e verifies the card + exit pill against the real model.
When the client advertises clientCapabilities._meta.terminal_output (Zed), a
bash tool call now renders as a real TERMINAL card — a cwd header + the command
+ its output — instead of the plain ```console text block. Keeps agent-side
dsh-bash execution; rejects the spec's client-side terminal/create (which would
bypass sandbox/env-scrub/ownership/cwd). Matches what claude-agent-acp and
codex-acp do; wire contract verified against Zed's source.
- dsh-tools: a provider-neutral ToolTerminal shape ({ cwd?, output? }) on
ToolCallPresentation/ToolResultPresentation — a tool asks "render me as a
terminal"; no ACP types leak in.
- dsh-tool-bash: bash presentCall marks terminal (cwd from an explicit absolute
workdir, else left for the bridge to fill from the session cwd); presentResult
carries the output alongside the ```console fallback.
- dsh-acp: initialize reads/remembers the _meta.terminal_output capability;
streamSessionEventUpdate maps a terminal presentation to
content:[{type:'terminal',terminalId}] + _meta.terminal_info on the call and
_meta.terminal_output on the update WHEN capable — else the unchanged text
path. terminalId is the callId; cwd defaults to the session header. The pure
translator gained a TerminalRendering {enabled, cwd} param (off by default).
Tests via the REAL tool-bash + bash-local: capability ON -> terminal content +
_meta; OFF -> no _meta (text path). The with-key e2e adds a real-model terminal
card case (echo over ACP with the capability on). 773 tests, 100% coverage.
The exit-status pill (_meta.terminal_exit), live streaming
(_meta.terminal_output_delta), and command classification are RFC follow-ups.
Records the verified design before implementing: keep dsh-bash agent-side
execution and render Zed's terminal tool-call card via the `_meta` convention
(terminal_info/terminal_output/terminal_exit), capability-gated on
clientCapabilities._meta.terminal_output, with the ```console text block as the
no-capability fallback. Rejects the spec's client-side terminal/create path (it
would bypass dsh-bash's sandbox/env-scrub/ownership/cwd). Studied
claude-agent-acp, codex-acp, and Zed's renderer to ground the wire contract.
Live streaming and command classification are noted as separate follow-ups.
- bash presentCall title is now "description — command" (e.g. "List files in
src — ls -la src"). An execute-kind ACP card HIDES rawInput (Zed renders it
only for non-terminal tools), so the command must ride in the always-visible
title to be seen — matching how claude-agent-acp/codex-acp title execute
tools. The command stays in rawInput too for non-execute UIs that show it.
- Rework the acp tool-call presentation tests (turns + load replay) to drive the
REAL dsh-tool-bash + dsh-bash-local via a new makeBridgeHarness({ withBash })
option, running an actual `echo` — instead of an inline fake bash tool. The
mock MODEL still scripts the call (deterministic, no key), but the tool and
executor are real, so the test verifies the shipping presentCall/presentResult.
- AGENTS.md: add the principle "prefer the REAL implementation over a mock/
stand-in in tests" (mock only the expensive/non-deterministic boundary).
- RFC (proposed): the ACP terminal sub-protocol + command classification — the
capability-gated rich rendering (live cwd-header terminal card, classify a
`cat` as a read / `grep` as a search) that the reference adapters do; the
fenced ```console text block stays the no-capability baseline. Studied
codex-acp, claude-agent-acp, and Zed's renderer to ground it.
- Fix two root-AGENTS.md cross-links that the depth bump left pointing at the
new docs/AGENTS.md instead of the root file they cite (capability-seams,
optional-code-mode). These resolved on disk so verify-md-links passed — the
gate checks existence, not which file you meant; corrected to ../../../.
- Broaden verify-md-links scope to .agents/skills/**/*.md: this PR rewrote the
dsh-code-review skill's links into the RFC tree, but the skill dir was outside
the gate, so a broken skill link would have passed silently.
- Percent-decode the path component before the existence check, so a valid
encoded relative target (My%20File.md) is not falsely reported broken; a
malformed escape (%zz) is reported broken rather than crashing the gate.
- Drop the merged property-testing RFC's "nightly CI job 100x" claim: that line
came from the original proposal, not the accepted decision, and CI has only
push/pull_request triggers — note it as possible future work instead.
doc-sync (incl. verify-md-links over 58 files), doc-typecheck, lint pass.
Collapse docs/adr/ and docs/rfc/ into a single docs/rfc/ with proposed/,
implemented/, and rejected/ subfolders. Every file is renamed to
yyyy-mm-dd-topic-title.md, where the date is when the topic was first
proposed (from git history). ADRs and RFCs that covered exactly the same
topic are merged (property-based testing, session persistence); the
umbrella RFC 005 stays split across its three implemented decisions, and
RFC 006's deferred part-3 (API extractor reports) splits into its own
proposed RFC. All cross-references become machine-checkable relative
links instead of bare "ADR NNNN" / "RFC NNN" prose.
Add a verify-md-links doc-sync gate (scripts/verify-md-links.ts) that
checks every relative Markdown cross-link resolves, wired into doc-sync
alongside verify-md-wrap. This makes the reorganization self-verifying:
the same change that rewrote ~forty inter-doc links adds the check that
proves none dangle. Document the cross-link convention in a new
docs/AGENTS.md and record the gate as an implemented RFC.
doc-sync, typecheck, lint, and the full test suite (667) all pass.
Lifts the RFC 010 § Deferred restriction that the server had to launch in the
workspace ("cwd must equal the launch directory"). An editor can now open any
project folder, and N concurrent sessions over one connection can each target a
different directory.
- packages/acp: drop the `cwd === process.cwd()` guard in validateWorkspaceParams
(keep "must be absolute" — the cwd becomes the session header / bash workdir),
and drop the persisted-cwd-vs-launch-dir check in session/load (a resumed
session keeps its original header.cwd, so its bash tools run in its workspace).
- packages/tool-bash: the missing link — default the bash workdir to the calling
agent's session cwd (`exec.agent.session.header.cwd`) via a new resolveWorkdir
helper. An explicit model `workdir` still wins; a relative one resolves against
the session cwd. This is the only correct spot for multi-session: N sessions
share one ctx.bash executor, so the workdir must come per-call from exec.agent,
not executor config. Falls back to the executor default when no session cwd is
available (preserves non-ACP behavior).
- Trust: the cwd originates from the ACP client (the user's editor) at
session/new — same trust level as the old launch dir; no new untrusted-input
path. `additionalDirectories` (scope widening / sandbox) stays rejected.
- Tests: bridge accepts any absolute cwd + records it on the header; session/load
honors the persisted cwd; bash defaults to / resolves relative against the
session cwd; two sessions with different cwds each run bash in their own dir;
non-absolute cwd still rejected. 100% per-file coverage maintained.
- Docs: RFC 010 status + § Deferred cwd bullet marked RESOLVED; acp README adds a
Per-session cwd section; tool-bash + example READMEs and e2e comments updated.
A crash can leave a durable log whose final turn never closed. The old
behavior truncated everything after the last turn/end as a "crash tail".
But a single turn can be HUGE in a long-horizon task (many steps, large
tool output), so truncating it silently destroys real, durably-written
work — truncating a turn is wrong.
New crash recovery (ADR 0018): load() PRESERVES the interrupted turn's
events and CLOSES the orphaned turn by durably appending synthetic
boundary events — a step/end if a step was open, then a turn/end carrying
the new merge-extensible TurnEndReason {kind:'interrupted'}. load()
returns the balanced log, so a resumed session is immediately usable. Only
a never-fully-written TORN tail fragment is discarded; corruption in the
committed region is still unloadable.
- dsh-session: TurnEndReason {kind:'interrupted'} + shared
interruptedTurnClosers() repair helper.
- JSONL backend: scanLog preserves the longest contiguous prefix
(including a partial final turn); loadCore truncates a torn fragment and
durably writes the closers, returning the balanced log.
- runPersistenceContract gains a crash-recovery test (both backends + mock).
- Docs: ADR 0018/0017, architecture.md, package READMEs.
Also (review #33): RFC 013 records the "move event vocabulary to Zod"
question (merge-extensible maps → runtime schema registry) + blast radius;
deferred, not done here.
Lifts the RFC 010 single-session-per-connection cap: the bridge now runs N
concurrent sessions over one connection, each mapped to its own LoopAgent.
- packages/acp: live sessions held in a Map<sessionId, SessionRecord> with an
agent→sessionId reverse WeakMap so agent/* events (which carry only the
Agent) demux in O(1). Every session/event and agent/status is routed strictly
to its owning record — concurrent sessions never cross-settle or interleave
their session/update notifications. Per-session state: one in-flight prompt
each, session/cancel aborts+settles only its own agent/prompt, session/load
reserves a per-id load slot (distinct ids load concurrently; re-loading a live
id is rejected), and disposal drains every live session in parallel to
quiescence.
- packages/tool-bash: record each background task's owning agent at spawn and
keep it for the executor's lifetime (NOT cleared on completion).
bash_output/bash_kill reject a task owned by a different agent (a task with no
owner is open; a no-agent caller can't access an owned task). Task ids are
global and predictable, so this is the fence that stops one session's agent
from reading/killing another session's background task.
- Per-session permission ownership and a per-agent disposer seam stay deferred
(depend on the deferred permission gate); the reverse map the gate will route
through is in place. RFC 011 stays `proposed`.
- Tests: two sessions stream concurrently without interleave; cross-session
cancel isolation; per-session in-flight enforcement; dispose-all-to-quiescence;
bash cross-session read/kill rejected (+ no-agent and unowned-task cases).
- Docs: RFC 011 implementation-status note; acp + tool-bash READMEs; example
MVP-limitations updated. 100% per-file coverage maintained.
Implements the RFC 010 MVP: a new `@deepseek-ai/dsh-acp` package bridges the
harness agent to the Agent Client Protocol (JSON-RPC 2.0 over newline-delimited
stdio), so Zed and other ACP editors can drive the coding agent — streaming
render, tool-call display, and resumable sessions via `session/load`.
- packages/acp: AgentSideConnection wiring; initialize/newSession/loadSession/
prompt/cancel; a total TurnEndReason→StopReason codec; settle-once with a
fallback chain (agent/turn-end → logged turn/end → idle); single-session
guard; cwd-must-equal-launch-dir validation; load replays from the persisted
event log (assistant/chunk→agent_message_chunk, tool/call/result→tool_call*).
- agent: add Agent.whenIdle() quiescence signal to the interface; LoopAgent
implements it (resolves on the first running→idle/disposed transition). The
bridge awaits it on disposal so teardown reaches quiescence, not just abort.
- examples: extract the shared provider/tool core into examples/base.yml;
coding-agent nest-includes it; new examples/acp-agent serves the agent over
ACP with JSONL persistence and no stdout logger (stdout is the protocol).
- Permission gate deferred (TODO(rfc010-permission-gate)): tools run with the
executor's full authority; only the Agent→sessionId ownership seam is laid
down. Cancel is best-effort for a not-yet-started queued turn
(TODO(rfc010-cancel-prestep)). RFC 010 stays `proposed`.
- Docs: package README + Zed snippet; client-driver cookbook section; root and
packages layout/commands; RFC 010 implementation-status note.
48 bridge tests + whenIdle coverage; 100% per-file coverage; e2e boots the
example as a subprocess and verifies a written file on disk (key-gated, with a
no-key stdout-purity check).
Add the durable session-persistence capability seam (ADR 0016): an
abstract SessionPersistence service (dsh-session-persistence,
ctx.sessionPersistence) defining create/append/load/list/has/delete/
update over the existing SessionEvent — no parallel persisted type — and
a first implementation (dsh-session-persistence-jsonl): an append-only
JSONL log per session with crash-safe atomic writes, truncation-repair
of a never-committed crash tail, and a read/replay path. SessionMeta
(format version, cwd, lineage) travels out-of-log via session.header.
A shared runPersistenceContract suite holds every backend to the same
append-only / contiguous-seq / lazy-materialization / serializability
semantics.
Config-driven create() now uses a per-run ${id}-session-<uuid> session
id so a fixed name no longer collides with an on-disk log once a durable
backend is loaded; each run is a new session (a demo simplification). The
examples drop their hand-rolled session-jsonl.ts and load the JSONL
backend via cordis.yml; CI smoke-loads it too.
The agent-facing create/resume factory that consumes load() is a
separate seam, deferred to a follow-up; this change stops at the load
primitive and does not reach into the loop.
Clarify that the CodeRuntime seam can host backends differing by
language/runtime, not just trust level — e.g. an AssemblyScript/WASM
backend (naturally sandboxed) and a Python backend over CPython or a
more controllable/embeddable interpreter. Note the execution contract
is language-agnostic while SDK codegen/prompt presentation is per-
language, and add these backends to the deferred follow-up list.
- Add an Alternatives section comparing Code Mode against the narrower
result-elision/summarization route over native tool-calling (solves
context-bloat but not composition/round-trips) and against parallel native
dispatch (a core-loop change that still lacks composition); states why
Code Mode is chosen and why the new code-execution surface is the price.
- Fix the Problem-section framing: it said the model "can run independent
calls concurrently," which contradicted the serialize-by-default decision.
Reworded to "express fan-out, initially serialized until concurrency-safety
metadata exists" — early win is composition + fewer round-trips, not parallelism.
- Concurrency: change from "may serialize" to mandatory serialize-by-default
via a per-run dispatch queue in the SDK bindings, with a non-overlap test as
a hard acceptance criterion (the binding shape otherwise makes Promise.all
dispatch concurrently before the tool contract has concurrency-safety metadata).
- node:vm guard: make it enforceable, not a README warning — CodeRuntime exposes
safe:boolean, the VM stub throws unless constructed { unsafe:true }, and
code-mode refuses to register run_code over an unsafe runtime unless separately
acknowledged (allowUnsafeRuntime); refusal path is tested.
- Prompt budget: drop the "zero prompt tokens" claim (the SDK .d.ts is injected
into the system prompt, so types do consume context) and add the explicit
budget/caching tradeoff — Code Mode's saving is on output/round-trips, not the
input-side tool description.
Proposes an optional Code Mode where the model writes a TypeScript program
against a generated SDK wrapping every registered tool, instead of emitting
one native tool-call per step. Implemented Cordis-style as a capability-seam
trio (code-runtime interface / code-runtime-vm node:vm reference stub /
code-mode consumer plugin) with zero core-package changes; the hardened
execution substrate is deferred to a follow-up RFC.
- 009: the crash-tail "overwrite" contradicted the append-only contract.
Name it explicitly as a one-time truncation-repair (ftruncate+fsync to
the last complete turn/end byte offset) that removes only the
never-committed crash tail; committed events are never rewritten.
Qualify the append/impl/ADR wording to match.
- 010: remove the remaining concrete-loop references — the session/new
and session/load table rows now point at the dsh-agent create/resume
factory, and the Risks disposal line uses the interface-level settle
signal (agent/status) instead of LoopAgent-only agent.done.
Resolve the inline review feedback on PR #18 (all verified against the
codebase, the published @agentclientprotocol/sdk@0.25.1 tarball, and
Cordis fiber semantics):
- 009: dsh-session owns SessionMeta (persistence re-exports) to avoid a
package cycle; split mutable summary into a sidecar so the event log
stays append-only and list/load can return it; pick one load-repair
rule (resume from the last complete turn/end, overwrite the orphan).
- 010: SDK has a zod peer dep + runtime zod/v4 import (drop "zero runtime
deps"); session/new needs a create seam taking {sessionId, meta};
propose an abstract create/resume factory on dsh-agent so the bridge
depends on the interface not the loop, and observe agent/status for
quiescence since agent.done is LoopAgent-only; add the explicit
TurnEndReason -> ACP StopReason wire mapping + test; reject non-empty
additionalDirectories for the MVP; remove the EOF blank line.
- 011: ctx.extend() does not create a disposable fiber — use a real
per-session disposer scope.
Three proposal documents, numbered in dependency order:
- RFC 009: an abstract, append-only, event-based SessionPersistence
service over the existing SessionEvent log (no parallel persisted
type), a JSONL impl, a SessionMeta header seam, and an async
AgentLoop.resume path. Design informed by Codex/Claude Code/
opencode/pi. Core design point; unblocks resume + ACP session/load.
- RFC 010: ACP (Agent Client Protocol) support as a dsh-acp
client-driver plugin on @agentclientprotocol/sdk, mapping ACP onto
the agent/* events and the tools/execute permission seam. Builds on
009 for session/load; single active session.
- RFC 011: multiplex concurrent ACP sessions over one connection
(bridge-layer change; downstream of 010).
Introduce HarnessError in dsh-llm (the leaf package): a stable machine-routable
code distinct from the message, cause chaining, name from the subclass, plus
isHarnessError. LlmError, ToolArgsError, and InvariantError now extend it.
Tool failures carry the structure end-to-end: ToolExecutionResult gains
error: { name, code } (populated from a thrown HarnessError), and the loop
forwards it onto the tool/result session event (which gained the same optional
field) for retry/sandbox plugins and replay. The loop's toError wraps non-Error
throws in a HarnessError(code: UNKNOWN, cause) instead of a bare Error.
Landed last and in isolation so it's a pure upgrade over the plain Error+code
the earlier PRs used — independently revertible. Graduates RFC 005 pt 2 ->
ADR 0015; RFC 005 now fully implemented.
Two tsx CI gates make doc/code drift fail fast:
- doc-typecheck extracts every fenced ts block from README/docs/package READMEs,
compiles them with tsc --noEmit against a temp project (vendor->lib, harness->src
paths from tsconfig.typecheck.json), and fails on errors. Deliberate sketches opt
out with ```ts ignore-check; the opt-out ratio is reported and capped.
- verify-event-taxonomy asserts the docs/architecture.md taxonomy table names
exactly the events declared in the interface Events blocks. This surfaced three
events the table had been missing (tools/change, llm/adapter-change,
system-prompt/change), now added.
Doc snippets made compilable with stub imports/declares (1 genuine sketch ignored).
Wired into CI after typecheck. API reports (RFC 006 pt 3) deferred. Graduates RFC
006 pts 1-2 -> ADR 0014.
Adds fast-check + one tests/properties.spec.ts per protocol-shaped package
(llm/BlockAssembler, session, tools/schema DSL, agent-loop scheduling). The
tools suite includes the RFC 001<->005 composition property (generated args
satisfying a spec pass validateArgs), closing the validator/InferArgs drift
risk from ADR 0011. Loop properties are deterministic (settle on agent/status,
no sleeps).
The BlockAssembler suite found a real bug on first run: a duplicate block-end
at the same index overwrote an already-flushed block, so the streamed prefix
disagreed with final blocks(). Fixed (first close wins, matching the existing
straggler rule) + regression test. Graduates RFC 001 -> ADR 0013.
- HMR state soundness: inject sessions, rebuild per-session trace by replaying
each existing session's log at (re-)apply, so a reload mid-turn no longer
falsely rejects the next event
- tighten nesting: turn/end rejects an open step; step/start rejects an open
step; chunk/message/tool events must name the open turn+step; pendingCalls
clears at step/end so a cross-step tool/result can't satisfy a stale call
- drop the default export (it stripped the inject metadata when loaded by
name; functional plugins expose named exports only — matches tool-bash)
- document deepFreeze's top-down precondition; sync RFC 005/008 bodies to the
as-implemented decision
New @deepseek-ai/dsh-invariants plugin (pure listeners, off in prod) asserts
the event taxonomy at runtime — seq monotonicity, turn/step nesting, a
tool/result needs a prior tool/call (NOT the converse), legal agent/status
transitions — and deep-freezes logged event data so mutating history throws.
Seeded sessions are checked + frozen on session/created.
The real RFC 008 fix is always-on: deriveMessages now structured-clones the
content it emits, so the loop's sanctioned request/adapter mutation can no
longer reach back and rewrite the append-only log. The pervasive
DeepReadonly<T> type flip is rejected (compile-only, high-noise, castable) —
recorded in ADR 0012, which folds in RFC 008. Wired into both demos.
defineTool now runs validateArgs against the SchemaSpec before execute, so a
malformed model call returns a self-correctable isError result listing the
violations instead of reaching the typed body untyped-in-practice. The
validator mirrors schemaSpecToJsonSchema semantics exactly (required from
required:true only, extra keys allowed, default not applied, object/array
without properties/items only type-checks, enum membership).
tool-bash's hand-rolled type/required checks (carrying the TODO(RFC 005)
stopgap note) are slimmed to just the value constraints the DSL can't express
(non-empty strings, positive timeout). Graduates RFC 005 pt 1 to ADR 0011.
Hard line breaks mid-paragraph make docs harder to edit and diff — a
one-word change reflows and re-diffs the whole paragraph. Reflow all
tracked non-vendor Markdown (plus vendor/AGENTS.md) so each prose
paragraph is a single line; soft-wrapping is the editor's job. Fenced
code, tables, and list structure are preserved (wrapped list items fold
to one line per bullet). Documents the convention in AGENTS.md.
Eight proposals grouped by category, each with problem statement,
concrete plan, and risks: property-based testing over the
protocol-shaped core (chunk streams, event logs, schema DSL);
mutation testing as the counterweight to the 100%-coverage gate;
deterministic tests + a universal replay-invariant fixture + nightly
race stress; architectural conformance (dependency-cruiser rules and
the LlmAdapter conformance kit); runtime arg validation at the model
boundary with a structured error taxonomy and dev-mode invariants;
doc-sync enforcement (typechecked doc snippets, API reports);
supply-chain checks and nightly vendor-drift verification against the
manifest; and deep-readonly public surfaces (logged-vs-in-flight
mutability boundary). AGENTS.md points at docs/adr and docs/rfc.
