abf217c38d fix(mesh): don't assert on malloc() failure in MemoryDynamic::alloc() (#11197)
* fix(mesh): don't assert on malloc() failure in MemoryDynamic::alloc()

MemoryDynamic<T>::alloc() called assert(p) right after malloc(), instead
of returning nullptr like the static MemoryPool<T,N>::alloc() already
does on exhaustion. All of packetPool's callers were already hardened to
null-check allocCopy()/allocZeroed() (#10948, #10951), but that path is
unreachable on real OOM here: assert() fires first, one level down,
before the caller ever gets a chance to check anything.

On STM32WL (packetPool is MemoryDynamic there - not enough static RAM
for the fixed pool), assert() failures are wrapped to an infinite
`while(true);` loop rather than aborting or resetting, so the thread
just hangs forever instead of returning nullptr. Reproduced on wio-e5
hardware under a burst of incoming DMs, with free heap draining toward
zero right before the hang.

allocZeroed() call site, but missed the two spots using the
UniquePacketPoolPacket (unique_ptr) wrapper: UdpMulticastHandler::onReceive()
and MQTT::onReceive() both dereferenced the allocation result unconditionally.

Previously unreachable in practice: MemoryDynamic::alloc() asserted before
ever returning null, so nothing downstream saw it. Fixed alongside that
assert removal (this branch) since these two are now reachable with a
genuine null - same fix as everywhere else, just an unchecked pointer that
turns up under OOM.

startReceive() set isReceiving = true before allocCopy(), so a failed
allocation (now reachable with a real nullptr instead of hanging in
assert()) left the simulated radio permanently marked as receiving:
handleReceiveInterrupt() returns immediately on a null receivingPacket,
before ever reaching the code that would clear isReceiving.

* stm32wl(rak3172): implement cpuDeepSleep()/shutdown() via STM32LowPower

cpuDeepSleep() was an empty stub, so the SDS deep-sleep PowerFSM state
and low-battery shutdown did nothing but leave the CPU running at full
power. Power::shutdown() also didn't include STM32WL in its arch list,
so an explicit shutdown command just logged a FIXME warning.

Adds STM32LowPower as a lib_dep (rak3172 only, mirroring STM32RTC) and
implements cpuDeepSleep() using it. Standby mode is used for both the
finite-wake (SDS/low battery) and forever (shutdown) paths, via
LowPower.shutdown(), with or without an RTC alarm.

If the LSE-backed hardware RTC never came up (stm32wlRtcAvailable()
false), this is a no-op - safer than sleeping without a confirmed wake
source. LowPower.shutdown() resets the MCU on wake and should never
return; if it somehow does, force a reset via HAL_NVIC_SystemReset()
rather than hanging the device silently forever.

Gated behind the existing HAS_LSE flag, so this is inert on every
variant but rak3172.

b71c1adb26 stm32wl: add hardware RTC support (rak3172) (#10961)
* stm32wl: add hardware RTC support infrastructure

Wires the STM32WL chip's internal RTC (running off the LSE 32.768kHz
crystal) into meshtastic's existing time-of-day framework
(perhapsSetRTC()/readFromRTC()), following the same pattern already
used for I2C RTC chips (RV3028, PCF8563/85063, RX8130CE).

LSE is started and polled manually before ever calling into the
STM32RTC library, with our own bounded timeout - the library's own
internal LSE startup path has no bounded fallback and hangs forever
via Error_Handler() if the crystal never locks, so this is required
for a board with a missing/faulty crystal to boot normally rather
than hang.

Gated behind a new HAS_LSE variant flag (currently unset everywhere,
so this is inert until a variant opts in - see follow-up commit).

The stm32duino STM32RTC library (added to lib_deps in a follow-up
commit) ships its own src/rtc.h. On case-insensitive filesystems
(the macOS default), an unqualified #include "RTC.h"/<RTC.h> from
any file outside src/gps/ resolves to the library's rtc.h instead of
src/gps/RTC.h, since PlatformIO's LDF puts lib_deps include paths
ahead of the project's own -Isrc/gps.

Qualify every include as gps/RTC.h so it can't collide with any
same-named header a future dependency might ship, regardless of
filesystem case sensitivity. Purely mechanical, no behavior change.

Opts rak3172 into the HAS_LSE infrastructure added previously: sets
STM32WL_LSE_DRIVE to a conservative default and pulls in the
STM32RTC library. rak3172 has ~63KB flash headroom going in;
build-verified at 76.7% flash usage after this change (up from a
73.8% baseline), well within budget.

wio-e5 is not opted in here despite sharing the same STM32WLE5 chip
- it's already at 96.8% flash usage today (GPS + I2C sensor support
compiled in, unlike rak3172), leaving too little headroom to safely
add STM32RTC without first trimming something else.

Andrew YongandGitHub 53a6b5e01f Auto-enable nanopb PB_NO_ERRMSG whenever DEBUG_MUTE is set (#10990)
DEBUG_MUTE (set for all of stm32) already compiles every LOG_* call
out entirely at the preprocessor stage, but nanopb's own error-message
strings are a separate mechanism it doesn't touch - PB_RETURN_ERROR
still embeds descriptive text in .rodata regardless of whether
anything ever logs it.

Rather than hardcoding -DPB_NO_ERRMSG=1 next to every place DEBUG_MUTE
is set, derive it in bin/platformio-custom.py via the SCons build
environment, mirroring the existing meshtastic-device-ui/APP_VERSION
CPPDEFINES pattern already in that file. This reaches both the main
project env and the Nanopb library builder specifically, since nanopb
is a separate LibraryBuilder whose own CPPDEFINES aren't otherwise
touched by a plain env.Append() on the app env. The CPPDEFINES
membership check normalizes both bare (-DDEBUG_MUTE) and value-bearing
(-DDEBUG_MUTE=1) forms, since SCons represents the latter as a tuple.

DEBUG_MUTE currently only appears in variants/stm32/stm32.ini and
variants/stm32/milesight_gs301/platformio.ini, so today this only
affects stm32wl builds - but it will apply automatically to any future
platform that sets DEBUG_MUTE too, without that platform's .ini
needing to know about the pairing. Saves 1,248 bytes flash on wio-e5,
no RAM change, no feature loss beyond terser protobuf decode/encode
error text.

dd509a8ecf Compute GeoCoord's UTM/MGRS/OSGR/OLC lazily instead of eagerly (#10996)
GeoCoord's constructor unconditionally computed all five coordinate
representations (DMS, UTM, MGRS, OSGR, OLC) via setCoords(), even
though most callers only ever read one. The UTM conversion alone pulls
in a chain of libm trig functions (atan, __kernel_tan, __ieee754_acos,
__ieee754_pow, __kernel_rem_pio2/__ieee754_rem_pio2) that then have to
be linked in regardless of whether anything is ever displayed.

The only screen consumer (UIRenderer.cpp's GPS coordinate display)
already dispatches on a single configured format and reads exactly one
representation per call - never more than one. Compute DMS eagerly
(cheap, most commonly needed) and defer UTM/MGRS/OSGR/OLC to first
access via their own getters, tracked with per-representation mutable
dirty flags, so a caller that never touches a given representation
never pulls in its conversion code or the trig functions it needs.

On stm32wl, GeoCoord's heavy constructor is reached only through
NMEAWPL.cpp's NMEA/CalTopo serial export (GPS-gated, so wio-e5 only),
which only ever reads the DMS getters - so this recovers 8,288 bytes
flash there (of the 10,172-byte ceiling if the whole feature were cut)
with the feature fully intact and zero behavior change on any
platform.

Updated test_geocoord_extreme_coords_no_oob (the existing regression
test for a historical out-of-bounds crash in the UTM/MGRS conversion
on extreme lat/lon) to explicitly call each representation's getter,
since it previously relied on the constructor eagerly triggering all
four conversions - which this change intentionally defers. Verified:
full native test suite passes (586/586 test cases, including this one
under ASan), and rak4631 (nRF52, screen-equipped, where the
UTM/MGRS/OSGR/OLC getters are actually reachable) builds successfully.

fe288a70e4 stm32wl: exclude PKT_HISTORY_HASH, RANGETEST, WAYPOINT, POWER_TELEMETRY (#10992)
Adds four MESHTASTIC_EXCLUDE_* flags to stm32_base, applying them to
every stm32wl variant (rak3172, wio-e5, russell, milesight_gs301,
CDEBYTE_E77-MBL):

- PKT_HISTORY_HASH: mirrors the accepted nRF52 precedent
  (variants/nrf52840/nrf52.ini) - drops PacketHistory's hash index;
  the O(n) fallback is negligible given stm32wl's small node table.
  No feature loss.
- POWER_TELEMETRY: only affects external power-monitor ICs
  (INA219/INA260 etc.) via PowerTelemetryModule; internal battery ADC
  reading (src/Power.cpp) is a separate, ungated code path and is
  unaffected. No current stm32wl variant wires up external
  power-monitor hardware.
- RANGETEST: real feature loss on wio-e5 specifically, the only
  stm32wl variant with GPS enabled (RangeTest requires GPS to run at
  all, so it was already dead on every other variant).
- WAYPOINT: real feature loss on rak3172/wio-e5 (russell already
  excluded this individually; that duplicate is removed here since
  stm32_base now covers it).

Measured on wio-e5 against upstream/develop @ 7a25ffd0a: 2,768 bytes
flash saved (240,648 -> 237,880), 260 bytes RAM saved. Sanity-built
russell and rak3172 to confirm no regressions from the russell
dedup.

6768bd08df fix(modules): null-check packetPool/clientNotificationPool/mqttClientProxyMessagePool allocations (#10951)
* fix(modules): null-check packetPool/clientNotificationPool/mqttClientProxyMessagePool allocations

Follow-up to fix/meshpacket-alloc-null-checks (PR meshtastic/firmware#10948),
which fixed the core routing path (Router/NextHopRouter/ReliableRouter/
MeshService/RadioLibInterface) after reproducing a HardFault on STM32WL
hardware under real mesh traffic. This covers the same allocCopy()/
allocZeroed() unchecked-return pattern in lower-frequency paths that were
out of scope for that PR: SimRadio.cpp (portduino sim RX/TX), NodeInfoModule,
the Telemetry modules' power-saving-sleep notifications, MQTT (map report,
client-proxy messages, config-validation notifications), PositionModule,
SerialModule, and KeyVerificationModule.

Sites where the allocation result was already read back through an
existing null check downstream (e.g. Telemetry's lastMeasurementPacket,
SimRadio's receivingPacket, AdminModule::sendWarning) were left as-is -
verified safe, not touched.

Router::allocForSending() (and everything that funnels through it, e.g.
allocDataProtobuf()) remains unguarded and out of scope here too - it's
called from 30+ sites across the codebase and needs its own audit.

On platforms where these pools are heap-backed (MemoryDynamic - used
whenever there isn't enough static RAM for a fixed pool, e.g.
ARCH_STM32WL or BOARD_HAS_PSRAM), allocCopy()/allocZeroed() return
nullptr on allocation failure and already log a warning, but most
callers dereferenced the result unconditionally. Under real heap
pressure this reliably produced a HardFault - reproduced on STM32WL
hardware under sustained mesh traffic, including the RX entry point
(RadioLibInterface::handleReceiveInterrupt) where every received
packet is allocated.

Adds null checks at all call sites that were missing one, mirroring
the guard pattern already used correctly elsewhere in the same files
(e.g. RadioInterface.cpp's sendErrorNotification). On allocation
failure, callers now skip the send/retransmission/notification and
log nothing further (the allocator already did) rather than crash.

Andrew YongandGitHub fcea931aeb fix(nrf52): enable USB/charge detection on Seeed Wio Tracker L1 (#10941)
isCharging()/getHasUSB() were hard-compiled to always return false on
this board: the nrfx_power_usbstatus_get() block in Power.cpp that
derives them is gated behind #ifdef NRF_APM, and this board's variant.h
never defined it - unlike tracker-t1000-e and wio-tracker-wm1110, which
do. Confirmed on hardware: before this change, `Battery: usbPower=0,
isCharging=0` regardless of actual USB/charge state; after, `usbPower=1,
isCharging=1` while genuinely on USB power with a battery attached.

Same underlying gap as #4367, fixed for tracker-t1000-e and
wio-tracker-wm1110 in #4376 (which also fixed a deeper bug where
PowerStatus notifications were gated behind a battery-level null check -
that part is already fixed generically in Power.cpp today, so this board
only needed the define). Looks like a simple oversight from when this
board was added, since it's newer than the two boards #4376 touched.

d16ae2b098 Rename power.h to Power.h for casing consistency with Power.cpp (#10919)
Every other .cpp/.h pair in src/ (350 of 351) uses identical
capitalization between the two files. Power.cpp/power.h was the sole
outlier; this aligns it with the rest of the codebase. No functional
change — all includes already resolved this file the same way on
case-sensitive filesystems.

8058cafe5b fix(power): correct charge/power detection preprocessor bugs (#10906)
* fix(power): check EXT_CHRG_DETECT with defined(), not truthiness

#elif EXT_CHRG_DETECT tests the macro's numeric value rather than
whether it's defined. Every existing board happens to assign it to a
nonzero pin, so this never misfired, but a board using pin 0 (e.g.
PA0 on STM32) would silently skip this branch even though the pin is
defined and configured.

isVbusIn() used EXT_PWR_DETECT alone. On boards where that pin is a
charge-complete/standby signal rather than a continuous power-present
signal, isVbusIn() reports false for the entire duration of an active
charge. If EXT_CHRG_DETECT is also defined, OR it in: charging can
only happen when power is present, so this only adds correct true
results and is a no-op for boards where EXT_PWR_DETECT already means
"power present" continuously.

NRF52 was bypassing the .tmp/readback/rename path entirely — openFile()
deleted the target file and wrote directly to it, and close() returned
true without verifying the write or renaming anything.

Adafruit_LittleFS::rename() calls lfs_rename() directly (confirmed at
Adafruit_LittleFS.cpp:205). Remove both ARCH_NRF52 guards so NRF52
follows the same write-to-.tmp → readback-hash → rename path used by
all other platforms.

handleStoreDeviceUIConfig() was writing /prefs/uiconfig.proto
unconditionally. MenuHandler.cpp is already gated behind #if HAS_SCREEN,
so there is no path that populates UI config on screen-less platforms.
Guard the save with #if HAS_SCREEN to avoid wasting a flash block on
devices that will never use it.

The read path (handleGetDeviceUIConfig) does not touch the filesystem
and needs no change.

* fs: enable format-on-retry for all platforms in saveToDisk

The FSCom.format() call on save failure was guarded to ARCH_NRF52 with
a comment that other platforms were not ready (bug #4184). STM32WL was
added to the guard in a prior commit. All platforms now expose format
semantics and the retry logic is identical — remove the guard.

To keep NodeDB.cpp platform-agnostic and fix a CI failure on native-tft
(portduino's fs::FS has no format() method), introduce fsFormat() in
FSCommon as the single call-site for all callers:

  - Embedded (ESP32, NRF52, STM32WL, RP2040): delegates to FSCom.format()
  - Portduino: rmDir("/prefs") + FSBegin() (a no-op on portduino).
    rmDir("/prefs") is already called unconditionally by factoryReset()
    (NodeDB.cpp:504), so both primitives are proven on portduino.

Replace both direct FSCom.format() calls in NodeDB.cpp with fsFormat().

Note: we do not run portduino locally — portduino/native build testers
please verify the format-on-retry path.

* DO NOT MERGE: nrf52(fs): add File() default constructor bound to InternalFS

Adds File() to the Adafruit LittleFS File class (in the Meshtastic
Adafruit_nRF52_Arduino fork), delegating to File(InternalFS). This
matches the default-constructible File API on all other platforms.

The constructor is implemented in Adafruit_LittleFS_File.cpp rather
than inline in the header to avoid a circular include between
Adafruit_LittleFS_File.h and InternalFileSystem.h.

FOLLOW-UP REQUIRED: nrf52.ini points to a commit SHA on the
mesh-malaysia/Adafruit_nRF52_Arduino fork instead of the upstream
meshtastic framework. Once meshtastic/Adafruit_nRF52_Arduino#5 is
merged, revert nrf52.ini to point back to the upstream meshtastic
framework URL.

Now that NRF52 and STM32WL have File() default constructors and NRF52
has working atomic SafeFile rename, the capability gaps are closed.
Remove all per-arch guards across the shared FS layer:

FSCommon.cpp — renameFile():
  Use FSCom.rename() on all platforms. Adafruit_LittleFS::rename()
  calls lfs_rename() directly (Adafruit_LittleFS.cpp:205). The
  copy+delete fallback on NRF52/RP2040 was never necessary.

FSCommon.cpp — getFiles():
  Replace four ARCH_ESP32 guards with a single filepath pointer at
  the top of the loop (file.path() on ESP32, file.name() elsewhere).
  Fix strcpy(fileInfo.file_name, filepath): bounded to
  sizeof(fileInfo.file_name)-1 with explicit NUL termination to prevent
  overflow of the 228-byte meshtastic_FileInfo::file_name array.

FSCommon.cpp — listDir():
  Same filepath pointer approach. NRF52/STM32WL were in an else-branch
  that only logged but never deleted — now all platforms follow the
  unified del path. 12 guards → 2.
  Fix three strncpy(buffer, ..., sizeof(buffer)) calls that did not
  NUL-terminate when source length >= sizeof(buffer) (255 bytes).
  Add explicit buffer[sizeof(buffer)-1] = '\0' after each.

FSCommon.cpp — rmDir():
  Use listDir(del=true) everywhere. The ARCH_NRF52 rmdir_r() path and
  the ARCH_ESP32|RP2040|PORTDUINO listDir() path collapse to one line.

SafeFile.cpp:
  ARCH_NRF52 bypass removed (handled in preceding commit).

xmodem.h:
  File file; now works on all platforms via default constructors
  added in the two preceding commits.

Remaining #ifdef ARCH_ESP32 in FSCommon.cpp: exactly 4, all for the
file.path() vs file.name() API difference (ESP32 Arduino LittleFS
returns the full path; all others return only the name). That
difference lives in the framework and cannot be closed here.

Adds a write-behind (RMW) page cache to the STM32WL LittleFS driver,
modelled after the NRF52 Adafruit approach (flash_cache.c). This allows
LFS to use 256-byte virtual blocks backed by 2048-byte physical pages:
the erase/prog callbacks accumulate changes in a 2 KB RAM buffer; the
sync callback (and page eviction on page-change) flushes with a single
HAL physical-erase + doubleword-program pass.

LFS tunables changed (FORMAT BREAK — superblock parameters):
  block_size:  2048 B → 256 B  (8 virtual blocks per physical page)
  read_size:   2048 B → 256 B  (= block_size)
  prog_size:   2048 B → 256 B  (= block_size; hardware min is 8 B)
  block_count: 112   → 80     (14 phys pages → 10 phys pages = 20 KiB)

Benefits:
  - Internal fragmentation: max 2047 B/file → max 255 B/file
  - Heap per open LFS file: ~4 KB → 512 B (prog + read buffers)
  - Code flash headroom: 6.7 KB → ~14.1 KB (+7.4 KB)
  - Block budget: 80 virtual blocks, worst-case peak ~20, ~60 free

Updates board_upload.maximum_size in wio-e5/platformio.ini from 233472
(256 KB − 28 KB) to 241664 (256 KB − 20 KB) to match the reduced FS
reservation.

Justification for the format break: the prior STM32WL firmware had
several flash write bugs fixed earlier in this series (missing error
flag clearing, no abort on first write failure, unaligned write
acceptance). These bugs very likely caused silent config corruption on
deployed devices. The format break should be treated as an enhancement:
it provides a clean, reliably-written starting point. Users will need
to reconfigure their device once after this update.

Correctness fixes applied to the cache implementation:
  - alignas(8) on _page_cache: the buffer was uint8_t[] (alignment 1)
    but _flash_cache_flush casts it to const uint64_t* — undefined
    behaviour per C++ standard, potential Cortex-M hardfault. alignas(8)
    guarantees the required alignment for the doubleword cast.
  - HAL_FLASH_Lock() return value: was discarded. Now assigned to
    lock_rc and propagated into rc if prior writes succeeded, so LFS
    sees the error rather than a false success.

2ed7bba5e7 fix(Power): refactor EXT_CHRG_DETECT to compile-time macros (#10191)
Mirror the EXT_PWR_DETECT pattern: replace runtime static variables
(ext_chrg_detect_mode, ext_chrg_detect_value) with compile-time macros.
Auto-infer EXT_CHRG_DETECT_VALUE from EXT_CHRG_DETECT_MODE when the mode
is INPUT_PULLUP (→ LOW) or INPUT_PULLDOWN (→ HIGH); default to HIGH.

This fixes inverted polarity on variants that define EXT_CHRG_DETECT_MODE
INPUT_PULLUP without an explicit EXT_CHRG_DETECT_VALUE (e.g. russell):
previously the runtime default of HIGH caused isCharging() to return the
opposite of the correct value. With auto-inference the correct LOW active
level is now derived at compile time.

Remove the now-redundant EXT_CHRG_DETECT_VALUE HIGH from ELECROW-ThinkNode-M4
variant.h since HIGH is the inferred default.

The BME680 is hardware footprint compatible with the BME280 already
present on the Russell board, so add it as an additional lib dep to
enable environment sensing (temperature, humidity, pressure,
gas resistance).

The STM32 target has very limited flash. Even traceroute alone causes
overflow, so the following modules are excluded to stay within budget:

  - RANGETEST
  - DETECTIONSENSOR
  - EXTERNALNOTIFICATION
  - POWERSTRESS
  - NEIGHBORINFO
  - TRACEROUTE
  - WAYPOINT

AIR_QUALITY_SENSOR is also excluded as it requires the BSEC2 library
for real IAQ output, which alone overflows flash by ~44KB on this
target. The Adafruit BME680 library is used instead for raw sensor
readings.

Andrew YongandChloe Bethel 0ee5777c15 stm32wl(mem): fix getFreeHeap() underreporting on dynamic sbrk heap
mallinfo().fordblks counts only free bytes within the committed arena.
On STM32WL (newlib sbrk heap) the arena grows lazily from _end toward SP,
so fordblks reads near-zero at early boot even when ~48 KB of addressable
space remains. This caused NodeDB::isFull() to fire prematurely and evict
nodes on a freshly booted device.

Fix getFreeHeap() to include uncommitted sbrk headroom (SP - sbrk(0)) so
the returned value reflects true available memory throughout the boot
lifecycle.

Introduce MESHTASTIC_DYNAMIC_SBRK_HEAP as an opt-in build flag (set in
stm32.ini) so the fix is gated to platforms with a dynamic sbrk heap
rather than a static heap. Future platforms with the same heap model can
opt in by adding this flag.

  ADC channels and internal VBAT channel (AVBAT)
- ADC compensation using STM32 LL macros with factory-calibrated VREFINT
  (AVREF) for accurate voltage measurement
- LFP battery OCV curve for STM32WL using AVBAT (STM32 VDD absolute
  maximum supply voltage 3.9V, direct connection of Li-Po batteries is
  not supported)

Internal VBAT channel implemented in:
- Russell
- RAK3172

In these variants, ADC_MULTIPLIER = (1.01f * 3) = 3.30 as there is a
3:1 internal divider (DS13105 Rev 12 §5.3.21), and a bit of tolerance
as the actual 10% spec leads to readings much too high.

  it initializes a second ESP32 SPI peripheral (SPI3) for SD
- SPI2 is already driving those same pins for LoRa, so both controllers
  simultaneously drive the same GPIO lines, causing bus contention

Fix:
- Remove SDCARD_USE_SPI1 so both devices share a single SPI peripheral (SPI2),
  with CS pins providing device selection as intended
- Tested on a custom fork of device-ui; LoRa and SD card map tiles both work
  correctly with an SD card inserted

Do not update last_report_to_map when Map Report is attempted without a valid
location, as this results in waiting up to an hour (or configured Map Report
interval).

This change also results in the log WARNing message getting spammed until a
location is obtained, so remove the message for now.

This differs from existing MTK GPS e.g. L76K, where pulling PIN_GPS_STANDBY (WAKE-UP pin) low is not sufficient to put the GPS module in standby.

An additional `$PMTK225,4*2F` must be sent to enter "Backup Mode", which is exited by bringing PIN_GPS_STANDBY (WAKE-UP pin) high.

Wio-E5 currently has LED appearing to be steadily on, due to incorrect LED_STATE_ON (it is actually briefly flashing off, but visually it is hard to perceive).

Wio-E5 has LED between GPIO PB5 and VCC, so LED_STATE_ON should be 0 for LED to blink correctly. With this commit, it is now flashing correctly.

e29588d2e2 feat(RadioInterface): Tx power gain calculation rework (#6796)
- Rename REGULATORY_GAIN_LORA to TX_GAIN_LORA
- Move gain-based Tx power clamping from RadioInterface::applyModemConfig() to RadioInterface::limitPower()
  - User-configured Tx power now matches the Tx power out of the device connector
- Re-order [LoRa Chip]Interface.cpp limitPower() to take place before the final Tx power clamping so we clamp based on the pre-PA Tx power rather than user-configured Tx power

Tested on XIAO BLE variant.

Devices and users expecting a button on GPIO12 have to set [GPIO for user button](https://meshtastic.org/docs/configuration/radio/device/#gpio-for-user-button) to 12 (or any GPIO pin the momentary switch was connected to) to restore functionality.

Andrew Yong 1515c8e763 Add support for Heltec HRU-3601
Board is very similar to the Heltec HT-C62 based boards (Heltec HT62 variant) but due to wiring of SK6812 Neopixel LED to GPIO2 it becomes incompatible due to the regular HT-C62 dev board using a simple LED on the same GPIO. Depends on [protobufs#521](https://github.com/meshtastic/protobufs/pull/521).

Works:

* SK6812 Neopixel on GPIO2
* [GXCAS GXHTV3](https://www.lcsc.com/product-detail/Temperature-Sensors_GXCAS-GXHTV3C_C5441730.html) (SHTC3 compatible)

Won't fix:

* Battery reading - Board has no voltage divider on VBAT (board has a 1.25mm pitch "JST" style connector and a TP4054 charge IC)
* Main thread LED - Board has no LED on simple GPIO

Andrew Yong d1d49efc6e Implement REGULATORY_GAIN and SX126X_MAX_POWER in XIAO BLE EBYTE E22
Specify REGULATORY_GAIN and SX126X_MAX_POWER to prevent exceeding regulatory and hardware limits (i.e. overloading the PA input) respectively.

Also update the build flag to define EBYTE_E22_900M30S instead of just EBYTE_E22, since all the builds on the Discourse topic [New 1W DIY variant: Xiao nRF52840 + Ebyte E22-900M30S](https://meshtastic.discourse.group/t/new-1w-diy-variant-xiao-nrf52840-ebyte-e22-900m30s/7904) are using this module.

That should make it clearer as well that the variant header file should be tweaked if DIY builds are using stronger (E22-900M33S, not commonly available at this time) or weaker (E22-900M22S, not popular for DIY builds due to lack of differentiation from ordinary SX1262 modules).

Retain EBYTE_E22 flag alongside EBYTE_E22_900M30S build flag to prevent possible regressions in code paths generally intended for EBYTE E22 modules.

Andrew Yong 3cda598673 Add REGULATORY_GAIN configuration to remain within regulatory ERP limit
REGULATORY_GAIN is the total system gain in dBm to subtract from the configured Tx power, to remain within regulatory ERP limit for non-licensed operators.

This value should be set in variant.h and is PA gain + antenna gain (if system ships with an antenna).

This is similar to antenna_gain/NL80211_ATTR_WIPHY_ANTENNA_GAIN/NL80211_ATTR_REG_RULE_POWER_MAX_ANT_GAIN setting in Linux Regulatory/OpenWrt/mac80211/nl80211/iw.

* BUTTON_PIN has a 10 kOhm pullup resistor on HT-DEV-ESP, turning off redundant internal pullup should save some power
* LED is connected to GPIO2 on HT-DEV-ESP and is not inverted, update definition accordingly
* Remove redundant undef lines for LoRa pins

Above changes were built and flashed to my [HT-DEV-ESP_V2 board purchased from Heltec's Taobao store](https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=521590063077).
